  • Raghav Sachar (born July 24, 1981 in India) is an Indian singer born to father, R. K. Sachar, and mother, Usha Sachar. He is the youngest of three children. He started playing his first instrument, the harmonica, at the age of four. Every year since then his parents have gifted him an instrument. Born into a family of music lovers, Raghav was interested in music from a very early age.
  • Azim Hashim Premji (born 24 July 1945) is an Indian business tycoon and philanthropist who is the chairman of Wipro Limited, guiding the company through four decades of diversification and growth to emerge as one of the Indian leader in the software industry. According to Forbes, he is currently the third wealthiest Indian, and the 41st richest in the world, with a personal wealth of $15.9 billion.
  • Manoj Kumar (born Harikrishna Giri Goswami on 24 July 1937) is an award-winning Indian actor and director in the Bollywood film industry. He is known for acting in and directing films with patriotic themes, and has been given the nickname “Mr Bharat” (Bhaarat is the Hindi term for India). In 1992, he was honoured with the Padma Shri by the Government of India. Manoj Kumar was born in Abbottabad.
  • Pankaj Arjan Advani  (born 24 July 1985 in Pune) is an Indian Billiards and Snooker player. A winner of seven World Titles in Billiards and Snooker, he is considered to be the one of the best Billiards Player India has produced. In 2005, he set a world record by becoming the first player to complete a grand double .

  • Uttam Kumar (3 September 1926 – 24 July 1980) is one of the most famous names of Indian Bengali Cinema. Born Arun Kumar Chatterjee in 1926 at Ahiritola, North Calcutta he is widely known as Uttam Kumar and Mahanayak (The great hero). He remains as much of a cultural icon as he had been in his lifetime.
  • Samit Bhanja (2 January 1944 – 24 July 2003) was born in Jamshedpur. He got his first break in Balai Sen’s 1965 film Surer Agun and is remembered as the male lead, Navin, of the successful Hindi film Guddi, opposite Jaya Bhaduri. In addition to acting in film, he acted in theatre and jatras, and was associated with the Rupkar group theatre.
  • Kristo Das Pal  (1838 — 24 July 1884), was an Indian journalist, orator and the editor of Hindoo Patriot. In spite of being born of the Teli or oil-men’s caste, which ranks low in the Hindu social hierarchy, he rose to be one of the important persons of his age. Son of Ishwar Chandra Pal,he received an English education at the Oriental Seminary.
  • waram Bhavanarayana Rao (15 June 1924 – 24 July 2000) was famous Violinist and son of legendary Padmasri Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu. He is born to Dwaram Venkataswamy Naidu and Venkata Jaggayyamma on 15 June 1924 at Bapatla. He was educated in Chennai. He was trained by his father, and the late Prof. P. Sambamurthy.

  • 1206 – Qutubu’d-din Aibak (1206-1210) was crowned at Lahore after the death of Muhammad of Ghuri. He was originally a slave of Turkestan. As he started his career as a slave, the dynasty founded by him in India is known as “Slave Dynasty”. The construction of Qutabminar was started during his regime. Since he was very generous, the people called him “Lakh Baksh”.
  • 1783 – Simon Bolivar, great dynamic leader and social reformer, was born at Carcas.
  • 1837 – Kanishta, son of Samajya Laxshmi, was killed.
