  • The WSJ report also quotes a UAE embassy spokesperson in Washington as saying that “UAE has  never  had  an agreement,  plan,  talks  or  intention  to  host  a  Chinese military  base  or  outpost  of  any  kind”.

  • New Delhi  cannot  compete  on  an  equal  footing  with Beijing  when  it  comes  to  economic 
  • Hence, it must use the leverage and  resources  it  has  in its  immediate  neighbourhood  as  well  as  work  with  other concerned  powers  such  as  members  of  the  Quad  to ensure  a  rules-based  order  in  the  Indian  Ocean  &  Indo Pacific.
